In the first lecture of Radical Futures talks series, Aaron Benanav critically discussed new economic theories of the "rise of the robots," which claim that rapidly unfolding processes of computerization and robotization are the main causes of growing problems of unemployment and underemployment worldwide.

Egyptian socialist Taher Mokhtar will give a talk on the development of the political and social situation in Egypt from the January 2011 Revolution, passing through the Muslim Brotherhood era, and the return of a staunch military dictatorship. He will also discuss the situation of the revolutionary left in Egypt, the social movements and workers' mobilizations.

Boots Riley est le MC légendaire et anticapitaliste du groupe hip hop The Coup. Ile groupe vient dimanche 8 avril 2012 à l’IIRE. Riley parlera du movement Occupy et de la grève générale récente à Oakland. La conference commence à 18 h à l’IIRE.

Ensuite, The Coup donnera son premier concert à Amsterdam.
