The International Institute for Research and Education, Islamabad, organized a five-day-school titled "Global Justice School" from 9th to 13th October 2010. The school was attended by around 20 participants from various parts of Punjab and Pakistan-administered Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The participants were the activists of different organizations working for the rights of women, youth, workers, peasants and other underprivileged sections of society. It was the first time for most of the participants to attend such a long-week residential school.

The IIRE's three-to-four-week Women's Schools have considerably enriched our other courses. For example, other courses have borrowed feminist analyses initially presented here of the interaction of gender, race and class, social and family dynamics of economic restructuring, and democracy and leadership development in popular organizations.

Olivier Doubre : En la introducción a tu obra /1, precisas haberla escrito con "la intención de combatir las caricaturas simétricas" que se oyen a menudo sobre los árabes respecto a la Shoah. ¿Cuáles son esas caricaturas?

Mientras la crisis financiera global sigue arrastrando el mundo, los gobiernos locales así como nacionales tienden a poner el peso de la carga sobre los gastos sociales. Con más cesantías de trabajo, reducciones en salarios y con la desaparición de proyectos de comunidades, los sectores más vulnerables de la sociedad están expuestos a más riesgos. Paralelo a esta tendencia, el sistema democrático electoral se descompone, mientras los ciudadanos pierden su fe en él.
