Catherine Samary est économiste, spécialiste des Balkans et de l'Europe de l'Est. Elle est active dans plusieurs associations internationalistes depuis les années 1960. Economist, specialist on Balkans and Eastern Europe. She has been active in several internationalist associations since the 1960s. Founding member of Espaces Marx. Marijke Colle studied Biology at the Ghent State University, from 1965 until 1970. She was always interested in ecology and the protection of the environment. As a student, she was active in radical left movements, in solidarity with the May 68 Revolt and in the campaigns against the Vietnam War. She became a founding member of the RAL/LRT, Belgian Section of the Fourth International in 1970. The seventies were also the start of the women’s movement in Belgium.

Pierre Rousset was the first Director of IIRE, from 1982 to1993. He is especially active in solidarity with social movements in Asia and is a member of the French NPA. He is active in Europe Solidaire sans Frontières,  an association for international solidarity and edits its website.

Gilbert Achcar (born 1951 in Senegal) is a Lebanese-French academic, writer, and socialist activist. He is currently Professor of Development Studies and International Relations at the School of Oriental and African Studies.

Daniel Bensaïd (1946 - 2010) was a french academic, philosopher and activist. Professor of philosophy at University Paris VIII - Saint-Denis. He became politically active during the 1968 students movement, where he was a prominent figure. He is mostly known for hisstudies on Walter Benjamin, Karl Marx and French postmodernism.

Noam Chomsky is the Institute Professor Emeritus of linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Avram Noam Chomsky, born December 7, 1928, American linguist, theorist, and political activist. Although widely known for his political activism and articles and considered as one of the most important voices on the USA-leftwing, Noam is also recognised as one of the most outstanding students of linguistics today, and the 8th most cited scholar of all times.

A bilingual award-winning author of more than 40 books and countless articles on Latin America, Mexico, globalization, and labor migration, Dr. James D. Cockcroft (Ph.D., Stanford University, 1966) has been described by the American Library Association's Choice magazine as "an internationally known and distinguished scholar." Teacher of history and family studies at Evergreen State College and is Director of Research and Public Education for the Council on Contemporary Families, which she chaired from 2001-2004.

Stephanie Coontz (born 31 August 1944) is an american historian and author. Coontz has also taught at Kobe University in Japan and the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She is a former Woodrow Wilson Fellow.
