In the first lecture of Radical Futures talks series, Aaron Benanav critically discussed new economic theories of the "rise of the robots," which claim that rapidly unfolding processes of computerization and robotization are the main causes of growing problems of unemployment and underemployment worldwide.

Contradictions and Limits of Neoliberal European Governance – Laura Horn, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Egyptian socialist Taher Mokhtar will give a talk on the development of the political and social situation in Egypt from the January 2011 Revolution, passing through the Muslim Brotherhood era, and the return of a staunch military dictatorship. He will also discuss the situation of the revolutionary left in Egypt, the social movements and workers' mobilizations.

Boots Riley, el legendario MC anticapitalista del grupo de rap The Coup, visitará el IIRE el próximo domingo 8 de abril. Hablará sobre el movimiento Occupy y la reciente huelga general que tuvo lugar en Oakland. Empezará a las 18h en el IIRE.
