A year has past since the world fell into the deepest economic crisis since the 1930s and the end is nowhere in sight. Vulnerable groups like youth, migrants and precarious workers will be especially hard hit.
Still, many economists say that the crisis is ending. These are the same economists who, before the outbreak of the current mayhem, claimed it would never happen and they are the same ones who spent years encouraging the de-regularisation of the economy and privatisation of public services – part of the causes of the current crisis. In contrast, there are progressive economists who have always challenged neoliberal orthodoxy and who pointed out the dangers of the growing instability of the world economy.
The IIRE and the Grenzeloos magazine invite you to spend an evening with two internationally known critical economists and a Marxist theoretician who will talk about US-China Relations since the crisis. They will discus their interpretation of the causes of the crisis and their expectations for its development.
